Soon after leaving the city of sofia the road to the house starts to climb uphill around the edge of the lake Iskar and pine covered valleys. Our house can be found along a small track with few other neighbours or weekend cabins. Due to its location you are not far from the Bulgarian countryside or from the local town of Samokov which has many of your daily needs with restuarants and supermarkets, but is also your gateway to the mountain ranges and ski slopes.
Close to the house (aprox 22km) is the large ski resort of Borovets, with ski run covering all skill levels. Here you can also find many bars, restuarants, shops, ski hire and hotels.
The surrounding villages Beli Iskar, Madjare and mala Tsarkva are fast becoming popular tourist areas as they are the major starting pionts for hiking the Rila mountains. Mountain climbers are also flocking to Bulgarian due to some of the highest alpine walls.
